Memory & Imagination

Memory & Imagination

What is stronger?

2
Here I am in my office looking for inspiration to write today, truth be told I am not short of ideas, on the contrary I have too many, which makes it even harder to choose from.
I am an NLP Master and Trainer, I love what NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) can do for you and at the same time how much it simplifies what otherwise would seem “complex” and “difficult” to understand.
In NLP we have a series of “presuppositions”, things we assume are true and by doing so and abiding by them, things may become easier and more flexible.
There is one that sticks out the most above all the others (I love them all to be honest!), this presupposition is:

“Memory and imagination use the same neurological circuits and potentially have the same impact.”

Should I expand on this?
It is self-explanatory.
It is believed that the subconscious mind doesn’t differentiate between what is real and what isn’t.
Based on this belief we can say that whenever we want something, be it more wealth, lose some weight, become more successful, etc., by acting as if it had already happened the mind wouldn’t be able to know whether it is real, whether it has happened or not!
I remember reading once in a book about this principle, and it also added that the future is a lie, it isn’t set on stone nor written; so, based on this, why not fantasise about the future in a grand scale, building a humongous and ambitious dream and work towards it?
Either way the mind doesn’t register whether it is real or not.
It is said that the difference between an optimist and a pessimist is that the former sees life (and their future) positively (and by the Law of Attraction, they attract what they focus their attention on!) and the latter sees life in a negative manner, therefore their future is dull and colourless.
So, now what we know this, wouldn’t be useful to use this to our advantage and create a vision that empowers us and moves us towards our fulfilment and excellence.

As the saying goes: “if you think you can or you can’t, either way you are right!”.
See, how all roads lead to the same destination?
We are in control of our destiny, we define our future, no one else, period!
I hope you have enjoyed today’s read.
As ever please like, comment and share.
With all my love.
From my heart to yours,
